13: A LUCKY NUMBER FOR MODELLTECHNIK!
Many people associate the number 13 with bad luck. Not MODELLTECHNIK. That’s because the collaboration with MOIA, the 13th brand from the Volkswagen Group, marks a milestone for MODELLTECHNIK and the full start to small-series business.
OUR TASKS
Small-series manufacturing including painting, bonding and assembly of panelling, rear portals and front and rear bumpers for the fully electric vehicle fleet. Plus: planning, management, labelling, quality assurance and delivery of pre-assembled modules.

Customer Benefits
VW placed its order for 350 vehicle components at the end of 2018. The final small-series parts were delivered in February 2020. The corresponding gauges and smaller technical parts followed and repeat orders and components for spare part production are currently being delivered. For MOIA, this meant the introduction of a new mobility solution, an improvement in transport efficiency and the creation of sustainable transport options. For MODELLTECHNIK, it was a first step into the small-series business and thus also a boost to the market presence and led to the development of specialist knowledge, transformation and diversification, and the expansion of capacity and supply chains.

MOIA is a new company in the Volkswagen Group that is focussed on innovative mobility services. Its goal is to make urban transport more efficient and more environmentally friendly. The main emphasis is on ride sharing services, with MOIA encouraging sustainable mobility here with fully electric vehicles.

The TECHART company customizes Porsche models in absolute premium quality. The dynamic TECHART design language and the craftsmanship of MODELLTECHNIK result in a perfect symbiosis. In this case: the TECHART front spoiler, the TECHART grill covers and the TECHART side skirts. For individual and sporty exterior styling of the Porsche 911 Carrera models.
OUR TASKS
The production of RIM tools for trim parts such as front spoiler, grill cover and side skirts, including the project documentation to ensure part traceability, was the task of MODELLTECHNIK in this exciting project.

Customer Benefits
The production of RIM tools was the main requirement in this project, which was met to the customer's complete satisfaction thanks to our years of expertise. Thanks to the possibility of tempering the polyurethane parts in the in-house tempering chamber, efficient and high-quality production was possible. At the customer's request, individual tempering molds can also be milled by MODELLTECHNIK.

Revolution in ventilation technology
AIRVOLUTION – Impressive design for interior ventilation
The AIRVOLUTION demonstrator developed by our customer Fuerda was a highlight at IZB 2024 and represents a "small revolution" in ventilation technology! The technology carrier impressed with an interactive ventilation field featuring so-called "morphing surfaces" or "alive geometries." Particularly fascinating are the matrix LEDs behind the elegant black panel touch cover and the ambient lighting inside the "slimline diffuser" housing, which visually indicate the respective air direction. The "frosted optic" of the blue-backed cover, as well as the backlit textile with a support structure in a "gradient design" and a "starry sky" in the background, stand out as special design highlight.
OUR TASKS
Our task in this diverse project was the production of a demonstrator based on customer data and design presentation. MODELLTECHNIK supported the development of a production-oriented design, advised on material selection, and ultimately implemented the design.

By jointly validating the request data with a focus on assembly and manufacturing feasibility, product optimizations could still be implemented before construction began. The short distance between the customer and MODELLTECHNIK allowed open issues to be resolved quickly, often directly on-site. Thanks to the variety of technologies under one roof, the project could be advanced effectively and flexibly.
