PIONEER OF SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS

WE ARE SHAPING THE FUTURE OF MODEL AND PROTOTYPE CONSTRUCTION TOGETHER.

Innovation and sustainability are extremely important to MODELLTECHNIK. That’s why we always aim to conserve resources as much as possible in production and integrate ecological and social aspects into the corporate culture.

Our Team Green working group implements sustainable projects within the company and raises our employees’ awareness of sustainable thinking and conduct.

Thuringia Sustainability Agreement

Official presentation of the membership certificate

We are proud to officially hold the membership certificate of the Thuringia Sustainability Agreement in our hands. When Ms. Booth, the head of the NAT office in Erfurt, presented us with the certificate, it was a special moment to be included in Thuringia's largest network for sustainable business. In the run-up to the handover, there were already lively discussions about possible partnerships and actions by the network members. The Thuringia Sustainability Agreement is a voluntary agreement between the Thuringian state government and Thuringian companies. The topics of climate and environmental protection, resource conservation, energy efficiency and social sustainability are focused on and worked on together. This is another important step for MODELLTECHNIK in tackling its sustainability goals efficiently and utilizing the synergies that the network makes possible.

PROTECTING THE CLIMATE

Together with the ‘Plant-my-Tree’ foundation, we have planted 100 common beech and oak trees in the Nobitz-Runsdorf area in eastern Thuringia, where they and 18,000 other trees will stand for the next 99 years without being chopped down or used commercially.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS

Where possible, we manufacture our products with the alternative materials NFPP, wood fibre material, solvent-free paints, vegan leather and recycled material, which is available for almost every plastic.

E-BIKE LEASING

Good for the planet and our health. We offer our employees e-bike leasing, so they can avoid the rush-hour traffic on their way to work and reduce emissions for the planet.

TEAM GREEN

The internal Team Green working group is committed to achieving defined climate targets and works on innovative concepts in environmental protection and energy management.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

The use of state-of-the-art machines not only saves energy during operation, but can also produce nitrogen, for example, which is needed for plastic sintering processes.

PAPERLESS

We are already massively reducing our paper use in production and in our offices thanks to digitalisation processes, with the aim of becoming 100% paperless.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

MODELLTECHNIK is committed to recording energy usage and implementing monitoring mechanisms. Energy-saving targets are monitored and furthered through the PDCA cycle.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

We continuously improve our energy and resource efficiency and contribute to environmental protection through this certification. Meeting commitments as part of an environmental management system enables more sustainable and more efficient production.

THURINGIA SUSTAINABILITY AGREEMENT

We are a member of NAThüringen. The network is a voluntary agreement between the Thuringian state government and Thuringian companies. The topics of climate and environmental protection, resource conservation, energy efficiency and social sustainability are focussed on and worked on together.

„ Thank you for the wonderful trade fair model of our star sensor ASTRO XP [...] The mechanics can hardly be distinguished from the real sensor and the optical components are manufactured with such precision that they create an optical image like the original!“
