A Joint Step into the Future of Our Company
ModellTechnik Rapid Prototyping GmbH is facing significant changes – and at the same time, great opportunities. The coming years will be decisive for the continued development of our company.
In order to strengthen our strategic direction and further develop our internal processes, we are restructuring our management team.
As of April 1, 2026, Mr. Thomas Näther will assume the position of second Managing Director.
With this step, we are creating the conditions to consistently implement our strategic goals and to secure and further develop the Waltershausen site in the long term.
This new role brings additional responsibility for Mr. Näther – combined with trust, but also with clear expectations.
We are convinced that this decision represents an important signal for the future viability of our company.

ModellTechnik Rapid Prototyping Repositions Itself for the Future
ModellTechnik Rapid Prototyping GmbH is strategically realigning its business to strengthen its long-term competitiveness and to sustainably secure its Waltershausen site.
Against the backdrop of an increasingly dynamic market environment, rising costs, and growing international competition, the company has developed a comprehensive future plan over recent weeks. The objective is to further expand the company’s technological capabilities, optimize processes, and unlock new market potential.
The Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) continues to anticipate weak demand, high costs, and ongoing geopolitical risks. In addition, the Iran conflict is currently dampening hopes for an economic recovery.
As part of this strategic realignment, the company will optimize its organizational structure, align responsibilities with future requirements, and improve internal processes.
This also includes a reduction of positions across all areas of the company. Only through this necessary reduction of approximately 40 employees will it be possible to secure a stable and successful future for the business. Management expressly regrets this step and emphasizes that the decision was made after careful consideration of the current economic situation.
“This decision was not easy for us. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that our company remains stable and competitive in the long term,” explains Managing Director Peter Bonn. “Our goal is to strengthen the Waltershausen site and lay the foundation for sustainable growth.”
The adjustment process will be carried out in close coordination with the works council.
At the same time, the company is making targeted investments in its future-oriented business areas and aims to further strengthen its position as an innovative partner in prototype and low-volume production, while opening up new markets, customers, and sales channels.
With this future plan, ModellTechnik Rapid Prototyping is sending a clear signal of its commitment to sustainable development and the long-term safeguarding of its business location.
